The All England Club has decided to cancel Wimbledon this year due to the coronavirus epidemic. This important decision was taken on the holding of the tournament in an emergency meeting called on Wednesday.

The third Grand Slam of the year has been canceled due to Coronavirus infection. A decision has been taken to cancel the Grand Slam Wimbledon starting on 29 June. On Wednesday, it was informed that the third Grand Slam tennis tournament of the year has been canceled. Earlier, the French Open was also postponed and shifted to September-October.

Significantly, the number of patients infected with the coronavirus is continuously increasing. This is why there is a worldwide lockdown situation. Wimbledon was to be held in London from 29 June to 12 July. A decision had been taken on the tournament to be held but it was officially announced on Wednesday.

The final decision on whether to organize Wimbledon was to be made in the next few weeks, but executive officer Richard Lewis announced that an emergency meeting of the board had been called. It was decided in this meeting that instead of postponing the tournament for a week or two, it was decided to cancel it.
