Wimbledon Championship will be Held as per Schedule: Reports

Even though the French Open tennis tournament has been pushed forward due to the Coronavirus epidemic, the organizers of Wimbledon still plan to hold the tournament according to a pre-determined schedule. Wimbledon is scheduled to be played from 29 June to 12 July, but the head of the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club is well aware that the game calendar is badly affected by this disease. The organizers of the French Open announced on Tuesday that this tournament would now be held in September instead of May.

The second Grand Slam of the year was to begin on May 24, but will now be held between September 20 and October 4. Wimbledon organizers still hope that the grass-court tournament will start at the right time if the virus outbreak is reduced. Richard Lewis, chief executive of the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club, has said that he will make public life safety a priority.

Lewis said that the commitment to the health and safety of our members, staff, and people is the focal point of our decision. We are grateful to the government and public health authorities for their advice and support. He said that while we are planning to organize the championship this time, we will still work responsibly in the best interest of the wider society.
