Will Perform Like a 20-Year-Old Player: Praveen Tambe

Mumbai leg-spinner Praveen Tambe does not consider himself more than 20 years old and says he will bring all his experience and energy to the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) team in IPL. After the 2016 IPL, Tambe has not been bought by any team. KKR bought Tambe for this season. That means he is returning to the IPL after three years. This former Rajasthan Royals leg-spinner was bought by KKR for his base price of Rs 20 lakh. Tambe said, "I still play with this mentality like I am 20 years old. I will bring all my experience and energy to the team. I will bring positivity. I know that if I stay with the team, I can do that. He does not consider age as a hindrance."

He said, "People do many things, but I pay attention to my work. Whatever role I get, I will try to give 100 percent on my behalf. I have nothing to prove. If that had happened, I would not have been able to play for so long." Tambe, who worked as a sports teacher at DY Patil Stadium, said, 'My family has supported me for so many years. They cheered me up. KKR must have seen something in me that selected me. I am thankful to the KKR team management. I want to do well for them in return. '

On the other hand, former India opener Gautam Gambhir believes that his former IPL team KKR does not have much backup options and the team management should have bid on all-rounders in the players' auction. Gambhir said that if we look at the team as a whole, there is no alternative to Andre Russell, Eoin Morgan or Sunil Narine and there is no substitute in the top order. He hoped that Cummins would justify his price by winning a few matches on his own.
