Why Bihar & Bihari’s Seeks so much Importance to BJP this Year ?

This year elections are held in two important states – Delhi and Bihar. Both states are extremely important for the BJP as it is emphasizing its regional spread. Union Home Minister Amit Shah has announced to contest the Bihar assembly elections in alliance with JDU under the leadership of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. It is clear from this that after having lost the election in some states, BJP has decided to make an immediate compromise with its ambition.

BJP first came to power in Madhya Pradesh in 2018, followed by Chhattisgarh, Rajasthan, Maharashtra and Jharkhand. In the Lok Sabha elections last year, the saffron party got overwhelming support for 303 seats and Maharashtra and Jharkhand also got out of hand last year. The news of the separation of the oldest ally Shiv Sena in the rar about the Chief Minister's post in Maharashtra made the most headlines.

Importance of Bihar

The BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) does not have a majority in the Rajya Sabha. In the same year, five Rajya Sabha seats are being vacated from Bihar. Then in 2022, five more seats will be vacant. In such a situation, BJP's exit from Bihar means that it will also get a major blow in Rajya Sabha. NDA is not going to get the support of its three Rajya Sabha MPs by leaving Shiv Sena.

Importance of being bihari

The BJP has been away from power in Delhi for more than two decades. There is a large number of Bihari voters in the national capital. According to the data, the total population of Biharis in Delhi is 31 percent which was 14 percent in 2001. The largest dropout population of Bihar comes from 18.3 percent of Delhi and 40 percent of them live in the two districts of North West and West.

This is the reason why BJP is considering giving some seats to JDU in Delhi too. Not only this, he has also retained Bhojpuri actor Manoj Tiwari, the president of the state BJP. The purpose of all these exercises is to woo the Purvanchalis (Jharkhand, Bihar and eastern Uttar Pradesh). The Congress is also considering giving some seats to its alliance partner Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) in Bihar in the Delhi Assembly elections as well.
