The organization also said that the epidemic can be controlled by national unity and global solidarity. WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, has also given several examples from around the world that have shown that no matter how high the outbreak is, it can still be brought under control.
The WHO Director-General said that some of these examples are Italy, Spain and South Korea, and even Dharavi, which is a densely populated area of Mumbai. Here testing, tracing, physical distancing and immediate treatment of infected patients were taken care of. This is necessary to break the transmission chain and overcome the virus. He emphasized the need for leadership, community involvement and collective solidarity.
According to news agency PTI, 12 cases were reported in Dharavi on Friday. With this, the number of patients here increased to 2359. The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has given this information. There are currently 166 active cases and 1,952 patients have been discharged from hospitals.
