When the Audience does not Accept the Film, it should not do Well: Alia Bhatt

Despite the huge buzz around it and an ensemble cast, Kalank didn't manage to do on critical as well as commercial level.

Karan Johar's period film  "Kalank"starring  Alia Bhatt, Varun Dhawan, Sonakshi, Aditya, Madhuri and Sanjay Dutt wasn't received well by critics and the audience alike. Despite the huge buzz around it and an ensemble cast, Kalank didn't manage to do on critical as well as commercial level.

However, after the first day itself, Kalank's box office numbers started to decline drastically. In first week, Kalank earned around Rs 66 crore whi

ch is far below the expectations. Made with a mammoth budget of Rs 150 crore, it's hard to say whether this Karan Johar production will recover its cost or not.

During an award ceremony, when the media asked Alia Bhatt about audience's response to Kalank, she said, "Analyse toh mai nahi karugi because that's something that is not required. Janta ki adaalat sabse badi adaalat hoti hai and when the audience does not accept the film, then the film should not do well, that's just the way it is. Aur hume bas accept karke aage try karna hai to come back and make sure to not disappoint this time.

Alia Bhatt also spoke about Kangana Ranaut, who has been slamming the actor and her family on various platforms. She said, "If I am like this, then my family is ten times more mature and stronger than I am. I don't want to get into this. I want to be happy, positive, work hard and be a better version of myself every day. I should not pay attention to what people say or don't say. Everybody has the right to say what they want to. I will be quiet. That's my stand."
