From 31 December 2019, instant messaging app WhatsApp has stopped working in Windows smartphones. From the first date of next month, this instant messaging app will also not be used in many Android smartphones. Apart from this, this messaging app will not work on some iOS based devices. The instant messaging app has given this information through its FAQ page. According to the page, from 1 February 2020, this instant messaging app will not be accessible on many Android and iOS platforms.

Android version 2.3.6 will no longer support instant messaging service on smartphones with Gingerbread and iOS 8 or below operating systems. On smartphones with these operating systems, users will neither be able to install the app nor create a new account. If you are also using the instant messaging service on the smartphones that come with these operating systems, then you have to upgrade to the new operating system Android version 4.0.3 or above or the instant messaging to the new smartphones with the upgraded operating system. Can use the service.

If you are Jio Phone or Jio Phone 2 users, then you upgrade your phone with the latest version 2.5.1 of your KaiOS. This will not work in the operating system below.  The incident of WhatsApp account was hacked last year. Keeping these developments in mind, the company has taken this decision to make its instant messaging app more secure. Security patches are no longer being issued for these older operating systems, due to which there may be a risk of account being hacked. This is the reason why this instant messaging app will no longer work with older operating systems.
