West Indies Includes Shannon Gabriel in 15-Member Squad for Test Series against England

International cricket will resume with the Test series between England and West Indies. The last international match was played between Australia and New Zealand on 13 March. After this, now the Test series between hosts England and West Indies starts from 8 July. Both teams are practicing on different grounds for this series. Meanwhile, the West Indies Cricket Board has announced its squad, which will take the field against England.

The West Indies Cricket Board (CWI) has selected the 15-member squad for the three-match Test series against England. Earlier, the 14-man squad was first selected for this series, but now a bowler has also been included in the squad due to his good performance in the practice session and then in the intrasquad match. There are also some reserves of West Indies players on this tour, who will be with the team during this tour. In special circumstances, these players will be given a place in the team.

Fast bowler Shannon Gabriel included in the 15-member squad:

In the West Indies team, 32-year-old fast bowler Shannon Gabriel has also been included in the team. Earlier, Gabriel was not part of the 14-man squad. The team led by Jason Holder does not have much depth and experience in batting, but the bowling department can help the captain a lot. The Test series is to be played under the ICC World Test Championship, in which the West Indies had a very poor start.

For cricket fans, this is no less than good news, because the fans will at least be able to enjoy live cricket, but the spectators will not be able to watch the match in the stadium. The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) has created a bio-secure environment for players. Even West Indies players who came to England in the first week of June had to stay in quarantine for two weeks. After this, the team started practice.

West Indies Test Team:

Jason Holder (Captain), Jermaine Blackwood, Nkrumah Bonner, Kraigg Brathwaite, Shamarh Brooks, John Campbell, Roston Chase, Rahkeem Cornwall, Shane Dowrich, Shannon Gabriel, Chemar Holder, Shai Hope, Alzarri Joseph, Raymon Riefer and Kemar Roach.

England vs West Indies Test Series schedule:

The first test will be played in Southampton from 8 July

The second test match will be played at Old Trafford from 16 July

The third Test match will also be played in Manchester from 24 July.
