Weather Brutality in Rajasthan: Lightning Struck Jaipur’s Amer during Rain

Lightning struck the watchtower in Amer Mahal on Sunday amid heavy rain in Jaipur. More than 35 tourists roaming here got caught in it.

Lightning struck the watchtower in Amer Mahal on Sunday amid heavy rain in Jaipur. More than 35 tourists roaming here got caught in it. Additional Police Commissioner Rahul Prakash confirmed the death of 11 people on Monday morning. However, earlier police commissioner Anand Srivastava had told ANI that 16 people died due to lightning in Amer Fort and its adjoining area.

In the incident, many people fell in the bushes down the hill. Many of the injured are still in critical condition. At present, the rescue operation is going on. As soon as the news of the matter was received, the police and SDRF team reached for the rescue operation. There have been incidents of lightning at many places in the state. In this 20 people have lost their lives.

After the change in the weather, a large number of people had come to visit the hills of Amer. The process of photography was going on here that suddenly the lightning struck. Due to this, the people standing here got scorched. The condition of many of them is said to be serious. The rescue team has brought down more than 35 people, but some are still stuck in the hill. These people are the ones who fell from the tower down the hill. They are still trapped in the bushes. Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot has announced an assistance of Rs 5 lakh each to the families of those who died in the accident. He has also talked about providing financial assistance to the injured.

Many people also fell in bushes of hills from the watchtower

During the rescue, it has also come to the fore that when the lightning struck, many people from the watch tower fell into the bushes between the hills. The chances of survival are said to be very low. During the rescue operation, there were many difficulties in reaching there. This work was very difficult at night.

Injured are sent to SMS Trauma Center

35 victims of the accident have been sent to the trauma centre of SMS Hospital. Some of these have been identified. Their names are Aman, Rahaan, Abdul, Soyal, Faiz, Sharif, Irzad Ali, Sameer, Istah Ali, Mohammad Shahid Khan, Sahil, Soyal, Arif, Shahdab, Seenu, Nirmal Mahawar and Vishwajeet.

Died People Identified

In the accident, 12-year-old Jishant resident Handipura Amer, 22-year-old Shoaib resident Choti Chaupar, 24-year-old Shakib resident Ghatgate, 21-year-old Nazim resident Shanti Colony, 22-year-old Arif resident Char Darwaza Shaheed Colony, 25-year-old Raja Das resident Rajapark, 25-year-old Abhinish resident of Janata Colony, 20-year-old Vaibhav Jakhar resident of Anand Nagar Sikar, 27-year-old Amit Sharma and 25-year-old Shivani Sharma of Amritsar died.

20 killed in lightning strike in the state

A total of 20 people have died in the state, including 11 when lightning struck the watchtower of Amer Mahal in Jaipur. In Jaipur itself, a child died due to lightning in Shivdaspura. Apart from these, 4 children have died in Kota and 3 in Dholpur's Bari. A man died in a village on the Sawai Madhopur-Tonk border.
