Pakistan bowling coach Waqar Younis appealed to his former cricket teammate Shahid Afridi and former Indian opener Gautam Gambhir to 'talk sensibly' by ending long-drawn fight on social media. Between Gambhir and Afridi, there has been a long war of words against each other on topics ranging from politics to cricket careers on social media. In his autobiography too, Afridi wrote about Gambhir, 'He behaves as if he has the qualities of Don Bradman and James Bond. His attitude is aggressive, but his records are not good.'

On this, Gambhir replied that he would take Afridi to a psychiatrist himself. At the Q20 event organized by GloFans, Waqar said, "Gautam Gambhir and Shahid Afridi have been in conflict for some time. I think both need to be smarter, sensible and calm down."

Waqar, who was monitoring the fiery reactions of both of them on social media, said that the issue should be resolved together. He said, 'If you do this on social media, people will like it, enjoy it. I think both of them need to act wisely. '

Afridi also made anti-India remarks against Kashmir and the Prime Minister last month. Waqar, in response to a question, said that India and Pakistan should play bilateral series on a regular basis. He said, "If you ask the people of both countries whether Pakistan and India should play against each other." About 95 percent of the people would agree that cricket should be played between these two countries.
