Virat Kohli will step down as the captain of Royal Challengers Bangalore after the current IPL season. He has already announced that he will step down as the captain of the Indian team after the T20 World Cup starting next month.

Virat said in his message – This will be my last IPL as the captain of RCB. I will remain a player of RCB till I play my last IPL match. I thank all the RCB fans for believing in me and supporting me.

Virat wants to focus more on batting

While announcing his resignation from the captaincy of the Indian T20 team, Virat had said that he would continue to lead the Test and ODI team. Virat now wants to focus more on batting. His batting form has weakened in the last two years. He has not been able to score any international century in a long time.
