Mark Zuckerberg, CEO of Facebook, Owns highly popular social media platforms such as Instagram and WhatsApp, believes that the situation is going bad due to covid-19. In his official post, he says that we are somehow struggling to keep our services running. Significantly, traffic on Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp has suddenly increased by 30 to 50 percent in the whole world. That's why the company has dropped the quality of streaming on YouTube.
Internet infrastructure company Cloud Flair has claimed that data usage during lockdown in the US has increased by 20 percent. Data spending in online gaming suddenly increased by 60 percent. Internet data spending in Seattle, home to technology companies, has risen 40 percent. Zuckerberg warns that if the rising cost of data is not controlled soon then the support system is not strengthened, the Internet may sit in the US. Also Zuckerberg gives the example of Italy, where the normal speed was not even 10 Mbps, which has now reduced to less than 2.3 Mbps. Things are not good in India also COAI has appealed to use the data properly. We had an average internet speed of 6.5 Mbps in 2019.
