Indian boxer Lovlina Borgohain on Wednesday won bronze medal after losing against Busenaz Surmeneli of Turkey 0-5 in women's welterweight (64-69kg) semifinal match. The 23-year-old Indian welterweight boxer  took a defensive stance from the beginning. But the World No.1 Surmeneli kept on hurting Lovlina and added pressure by the end of Round 1. She won the first round by 5-0.

Lovlina looked steamed off in Round 2, which Surmeneli won by 5-0 again. In Round 3, Surmeneli kept on her flurry of attacks. As Lovlina failed to respond back and ended Lovlina's hope of winning gold medal. She won the third round by 5-0. Despite defeat, Lovlina became the only Indian boxer among the nine-member boxing contingent to win a medal at the Tokyo Olympics.

Ravi Dahiya, Deepak Punia Enters Semifinal in Men's freestyle:

On the other hand, Indian wrestlers Ravi Dahiya and Deepak Punia reached the men's freestyle 57kg and 86kg Olympic semi-finals on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Dahiya won against Colombia's Tigreros Urbano. Later on, Deepak Punia take on Ekerekerne Agiarnar of Nigeria in the Men's freestyle 86kg 1/8 final. On the other hand, Indian Javelin thrower Neeraj Chopra entered the men's final here at the Olympic Stadium on Wednesday after attaining an automatic qualification in the Men's Long Throws Qualification — Group A.

Anshu Malik lost in Women's freestyle:

On the other hand, India's Anshu Malik lost to Iryna Kurachkina of Belarus in the women's freestyle 57kg 1/8 final match. Meanwhile, Iryna won the match 8-2 ​​in an almost one-sided victory. At the same time, Indian wrestler Ravi Kumar has easily defeated Oscar Tigreros of Colombia in the first match of the 57kg 1/8 final of men's freestyle wrestling.
