TMC indulging in violence due to ‘frustration’, claims BJP

In the backdrop of incidents of vandalism and clashes in West Bengal, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Sunday claimed that the Trinamool Congress is involved in violence with "frustration".

Addressing the media here, Union Minister Prakash Javadekar said that TMC is "feeling the heat" because people are voting in favor of the BJP.

"In Jhargram, our booth president (Raman Singh) was found dead. In the Ghatal constituency, our candidate Bharti Ghosh was stoned to a vehicle, he was injured and his vehicle was stopped by the local administration. Rather, his movement has been banned and he is being deprived of his right to go to the polling booths.

Accusing the fact that violence in West Bengal is unfortunate and the voters are facing tremendous pain, Javadekar said, "We have a list of 1500 anti-social elements to the Election Commission yesterday, who was supposed to be arrested, but they were not. We also requested the Election Commission that the supervisor should ensure proper deployment of the paramilitary forces. However, we believe that people are frightened and voting. "

He said, "TMC on the ground is feeling heat because people are against it and voting for BJP. TMC is desperate and is involved in violence."

Earlier in the day, Bharti Ghosh, BJP's Ghoshal candidate, had broken a polling booth after polluting a group of women at the polling booth.

Bharti was attacked allegedly by TMC female cadres and was stopped from going to the polling booth as they alleged that the BJP's polling agent was not allowed to sit at the station.

In the state's loggerheads, with BJP and TMC workers, there has been violence in almost all the phases of voting till now in West Bengal. Today incidents of stone pelting and clashes have taken place during all the stages of elections including.
