Congress High Command Sonia Gandhi will not take any decision alone now. To bring the Congress out of the image of the Gandhi family party and to avoid accusations of unilateral decisions under pressure on the leadership, Sonia Gandhi has formed a special group of 17 leaders.
The party will move forward on the issues and decisions of senior leaders on important issues, decisions in the political scenario to get the party out of the bad tour. The first meeting of this group has been called in the morning on 25 October in which issues like economy and NRC are to be discussed.
The Special Group usually has the same old faces which are included in almost other important committees but the most shocking name is that of General Secretary Ambika Soni, who left the charge of states like Himachal, Uttarakhand. Ambika Soni has been Sonia Gandhi's political secretary and is close to 10 Janpath. Ambika Soni's activism has increased these days. Ambika soni had also gone to Tihar Jail to meet DK Shivakumar with Sonia.
Members of this group are Sonia Gandhi, Manmohan Singh, Rahul Gandhi, Ahmed Patel, KC venugopal, Mallikarjun Kharge, Ghulam Nabi Azad. Apart from AK Antony, Kapil Sibal, Anand Sharma, Jairam Ramesh, young leaders Jyotiraditya Scindia, Randeep Surjewala, Sushmita Dev, Rajiv Satav have got place too. This important group does not include General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra. This group of the party will meet from time to time to discuss the stand and decisions of the party.
