The Case of Jamia Violence Reached DU

Currently about 5000 people are gathered on the road in front of Jamia Islamia University.

The case of violent protests in South Delhi against the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) has now reached Delhi University. According to the news agency Press Trust of India, the students announced a boycott of the examinations. Some students here made this announcement in support of the students of Aligarh Muslim University and Jamia Milia University. At the same time, a large number of police forces have been deployed outside the Arts Faculty in view of any possible uproar. At the same time, the violence in Delhi has calmed down, but in some areas tensions continue on Monday.

Meanwhile, Jamia's teaching and non-teaching staff have joined the demonstration. Currently about 5000 people are gathered on the road in front of Jamia Islamia University. Apart from these students, a large number of local people are also involved.

On Monday morning again a large number of people have gathered outside Jamia and are continuously protesting against the police. The students have demanded a CBI inquiry into the entire case, as well as requested the Supreme Court to take cognizance of the case. The matter will be heard in the Supreme Court on Tuesday.
