The 15-member Indian team for the T20 World Cup to be held in October has been announced. Off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin will return to T20 Internationals after four years. Former captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni will be the mentor of the team. Shikhar Dhawan, Kuldeep Yadav, and Yuzvendra Chahal could not find a place in the 15-man squad. The T20 World Cup will be held in Oman and UAE from October 17 to November 14.

Ashwin's comeback shocking

Ravichandran Ashwin surprised everyone with his selection. Ashwin has returned to T20 after 4 years. He played his last match against West Indies on 9 July 2017. In this 39 runs were given in 4 overs. He didn't get any wicket. In this tour of the West Indies, Ashwin also played his last ODI match. Since then he has remained out of the limit over international cricket.

The biggest surprise is the inclusion of Axar and Ashwin in the team. Ashwin has stayed away from limited-overs matches, Akshar has also played only 2 T20 Internationals in the last 4 years. He hasn't got a chance in ODIs for 4 years.

Suryakumar Yadav and Rahul Chahar got a chance

Suryakumar Yadav and leg-spinner Rahul Chahar, who has performed consistently after their international debut, have been made part of the team. He has played four T20 Internationals. During this, he has scored 139 runs with a strike rate of 169.51. Yadav has hit two-fifty in three innings. At the same time, Rahul Chahar has also taken seven wickets in five T20 matches. He is the only wrist spinner on the team.

For the first time in 4 years, both Chahal and Kuldeep are not on the team

Yuzvendra Chahal and Kuldeep Yadav were in charge of spin in limited-overs cricket after their loss to Pakistan in the 2017 Champions Trophy. But both have not been selected for the World Cup. Before the announcement of the team, Chahal's place was believed to be confirmed. His not being selected for the team is shocking. Kuldeep has been out of form for a long time.

Rahul Chahar alone wrist spinner

Since 2017, the Indian team has been relying on the wrist spinner rather than the finger. Because of this, both Jadeja and Ashwin were dropped from the team in one round. Chahal and Kuldeep were playing ODIs and T20s as wrist spinners. But only one wrist spinner Rahul Chahar has been selected for the World Cup. Apart from this, after 4 years again Ravindra Jadeja and Ashwin can be seen playing together in limited-overs matches.

3 fast bowlers in the team

Before the announcement of the team, from Sunil Gavaskar to Saba Karim, all the experts believed that there would be four fast bowlers in the team. The selection of Shardul Thakur, who was shocked by his batting in the Oval Test, was also believed to be sure. He has been kept as a reserve player in the team. The selectors have chosen only three fast bowlers, Bumrah, Bhuvneshwar, and Shami. Apart from these, all-rounder, Hardik Pandya will play the role of fourth fast bowler if needed. Considered a death-over specialist, T Natarajan could not even make his place as a reserve player.

Dhoni will be seen in the role of mentor

MS Dhoni, the former captain of the Indian cricket team, is returning to the team. He will encourage players from the dressing room as BCCI has appointed him as a mentor for the T20 World Cup. Everyone was stunned when this news surfaced, but it is going to be a big positive for Indian cricket. Let us tell you that Mahi had retired on 15 August 2020.
