Chennai: The MK Stalin government of Tamil Nadu today introduced a resolution against agriculture laws in the assembly, which was passed by voice vote. According to the proposal, the Center has been requested to withdraw all three agriculture-related laws. However, during this, there was a lot of uproar in the assembly.
In the state assembly, Chief Minister MK Stalin said, "All cases registered against farmers who protested against three farmer-related laws of the central government during the last one year will be withdrawn."
During this, MLAs of BJP and AIADMK staged a walkout from the assembly, protesting against the proposal against agricultural laws. The BJP and the AIADMK alleged that the resolution against the laws was moved in haste and the state government should have called an all-party meeting and sought the farmers' opinion.
Let us inform you that since November last year, farmers have been agitating against the three new agricultural laws of the Center and are camping on the Delhi-Punjab border. During this, several rounds of talks have also taken place between the government and the farmer leaders, but no solution has been found so far. The farmers are adamant on the demand of the government to withdraw all three agricultural laws.
