A labour special train from Nashik Road railway station in Maharashtra has left for Lucknow carrying 839 migrant laborers. Due to the lockdown implemented across the country due to COVID-19 work has started to bring the stranded migrants to other states.  According to the news agency ANI, railway officials said that five labour special trains have been run for migrant workers, students and others at the request of the state governments.

The Ministry of Home Affairs on Wednesday granted permission for movement of stranded people including migrant labours, students, tourists.  Meanwhile, the lockdown has been extended for two weeks.  It was earlier scheduled to end on May 3.

Giving information about these five trains, the railway official said in a statement that Hatia to Lingampalli, Aluva to Bhubaneswar, Nashik to Bhopal, Jaipur to Patna and Kota to Hatia have been run.  According to the news agency ANI, the last train of the day left for Patna Junction on Saturday from Jaipur at 12:18 pm.

Around 1200 migrant labours will leave for Hatia in Jharkhand from Thiruvananthapuram in Kerala today in a 'Shramik Special Train' from Central Railway Station.  Police workers are making circles outside the railway station for social distance before the workers arrive.  Along with this, cleanliness is also being done.
