India, on the day before the conclusion of the 13th South Asian Games, increased its number of medals to around 300 on Monday with 06 gold in boxing. On the eighth day of the competition, Indian players won 42 medals including 27 gold, 12 silver and 03 bronze. India's total medals number 294 (159 gold, 91 silver and 44 bronze), leading it to the top of the table. Nepal is second with 195 medals (49 gold, 54 silver and 92 bronze) and Sri Lanka third with 236 medals (39 gold, 79 silver and 118 bronze).

India has to compete in seven boxing events on the last day of the competition. However, India will once again cross the 300-medal mark. India received the most medals in boxing on Monday. In the men's category, national champions Ankit Khatana (75 kg) and rising Kalaiwani Srinivasan (48 kg), besides Vinod Tanwar (49 kg), Sachin (56 kg) and Gaurav Chauhan (91 kg) also won gold, while the women's section Parveen (60 kg) also won a gold medal.

World Championship bronze medalist Manish Kaushik, however, had to be content with the silver medal. Gaurav Balian (Men's, 74kg) and Anita Sharon (Female, 68kg) gave India two more golds in wrestling. India ended their campaign by winning 14 gold medals in wrestling. There were 20 wrestling events in the SAG Games, but according to the rules, no country can participate in more than 14 events. In such a situation, India participated in the seven-man category in the men and women category and was successful in winning the gold medal in all.

The Indian women's football team won the gold medal for the third time in a row by beating hosts Nepal 2–0. The heroine of the Indian win was once again striker Bala Devi, who scored one goal in both the half. The 29-year-old player from Manipur was the tournament's top scorer. She scored five goals in four matches. In shooting, the Indian pair of Anuraj Singha and Shravan Kumar won the gold medal in the mixed air pistol event. In the shooting, India won 18 gold, 07 silver and 04 bronze medals.
