Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) president and senior leaders Sharad Pawar and Ajit Pawar addressed the meeting of the party's minority cell on Thursday. Giving the credit of victory in the party president Sharad Pawar to the minorities, he said that the state has changed due to them. After the BJP's failure to prove majority in November last year, the Shiv Sena-Congress-Nationalist Congress Party formed a Maha Vikas Aghadi government.

He said, "During the Maharashtra elections, Muslims did not vote for the Bharatiya Janata Party. He cast his vote to the parties that can defeat the Bharatiya Janata Party. During the elections, minorities decided who to defeat. The scenario has changed in the state because of them.

Ekramuddin Khan was appointed as the Deputy Chairman for the Minority Cell at Pune. Party President Sharad Pawar announced it a few days ago. The chairman of the cell, Shabir Ahmed Rebel, was also present on the occasion. Earlier, in 2016-17, Ekramuddin Khan had also been the Deputy Chairman. During that time, he established better cooperation between Muslim voters and candidates.
