Seeking Pressure on Each Other to Get Maximum Seats: Jharkhand

In the state of Jharkhand standing on the threshold of assembly elections, the alliance of political alliances also caught on. All political parties are pressurizing each other to seek more and more seats. AJSU, an ally of the ruling BJP-led coalition in the state, is claiming more than one and a half dozen assembly seats. In this, BJP MLAs hold some seats. On the other hand, NDA constituent LJP is also seeking seats for itself. In the last assembly election, LJP got a seat under the alliance.

At present, the BJP's top leadership has kept silence on the seats being sought under the alliance. Seeing the BJP's stand, JDU has already switched sides. JDU leaders running the government with the BJP in Bihar announced to field candidates for more and more seats. It is being speculated that after the election notification is issued, BJP will clarify the attitude on seat sharing with allies. However, the scope of agreement with JDU is negligible in Jharkhand.

This is the worst case of opposition parties. After the success in the Lok Sabha elections, it is less likely that the exact agreement will be done in the assembly elections. The biggest reason for this is the ambitions of regional parties. Hemant Soren, leader of the main opposition Jharkhand Mukti Morcha, wants to project himself as the face of the Chief Minister.

First, the top leadership of the Congress had accepted his condition, sensing the urgency of the occasion. In return, the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha helped the Congress win one Rajya Sabha seat and gave it a chance to contest more seats in the Lok Sabha elections. Now the Congress leaders are seen to have retracted from their promises made earlier.
