Uttar Pradesh was also engulfed by outrage over the police action at the Jamia University in Delhi agitating against the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAB). The students of Aligarh Muslim University were creating a ruckus for four days about the bill. Till Sunday evening, the situation was normal, but in the late evening, the students suddenly became angry. At the same time, in the capital Lucknow, the students of Nadwa College created a lot of uproar by blocking the road. The vigil has also been increased in the entire Saharanpur district including Deoband after the AMU uproar. Internet service has also been discontinued, so that rumors cannot be spread.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has appealed to the people of the country for peace and harmony. He has said that in the context of the Citizenship Amendment Act, do not ignore any rumors spread by some vested selfish elements. He has said that the state government is committed to provide security to every citizen. For this it is also necessary that the law be followed by all. No one is allowed to influence the atmosphere of peace prevailing in the state. The Chief Minister has sought a report from DGP OP Singh following the protests outside the Aligarh Muslim University campus.

DGP OP Singh says that rumors spread after the Jamia incident and AMU students gathered. The police tried to convince them and told them not to come out of the campus, on which the students threw stones. Police also fired tear gas shells on it. At least 16-17 police officers were also injured during this period. A case has been registered. Now the situation is under control.
