India's star tennis player Rohan Bopanna, who was forced to withdraw from India's recent Davis Cup tennis match due to a shoulder injury, said the recovery process from his injury is moving in the right direction and he plans to participate in the Qatar Open in January. Bopanna said, 'This (shoulder) is getting better and I started training two days ago, so I have a full month to go before the session starts. So by the time the first tournament starts, I will be fit. 'The Qatar ExxonMobil Open will be played in Doha from January 6 to 12. Bopanna had to withdraw from India's Davis Cup match against Pakistan due to a Shoulder injury.

He said, 'It was found out after MRI that there was some problem. Initially, the doctors said that it would be cure after 15 days of rest and when I went for practice, it was still in great pain. India has beaten arch-rivals Pakistan 4–0 to reach the Davis Cup 2020 qualifier. At the Davis Cup performance, the 39-year-old said, "We were always contenders in the match against Pakistan. Every time Team India wins, there is great satisfaction in it, whether I am in the team or not. As players, we support each other and inspire each other. Winning for the country is the biggest thing for me and everyone.

Bopanna, who has played with Leander Paes in the recent games, praised the veteran player who was brilliant in the win against Pakistan and improved his record of his 44th Davis Cup doubles win. He said, 'If you play for such a long time, you like the game a lot. He had a brilliant career in which he started playing at such a young age and achieved so much.
