The Rajya Sabha election in Jharkhand has become interesting. Congress candidate Shehzada Anwar has filed nomination for the Rajya Sabha elections. BJP's Deepak Prakash has already filed nomination for this seat. The Rajya Sabha elections are to be held for two seats in Jharkhand. JMM candidate Shibu Soren won one seat. Deepak Prakash and Shahzada Anwar will compete for the second seat.
However, the figures appear to be in favor of Deepak Prakash. With the support of AJSU, Deepak Prakash is seen getting 28 votes, while the first preference for winning needs only 27 votes. At the same time, the Congress candidate can get the support of 16 MLA's of the party, two MLA's leaving JVM, one from RJD, one from NCP, one from Maale and two independent MLAs.
Meanwhile, in the Rajya Sabha elections, the candidate of BJP Deepak Prakash has also got the support of Independent candidate Amit Yadav. Amit Yadav has been the mover in Deepak Prakash's third set of nomination papers. Earlier in a set, MLAs CP Singh, Neelkanth Singh Munda, Amar Bauri, Anant Ojha, Viranchi Narayan, Manish Jaiswal, Raj Sinha, Kishun Das, Naveen Jaiswal, Dr. Neera Yadav became the proponents.
In the second set, Ajsu MLA's Lombodar Mahato, Babulal Marandi, Ramchandra Chandravanshi, Narayan Das, JP Patel, Amit Mandal, Koache Munda, Kedar Hazra, Bhanupratap Shahi and Aparna Sen Gupta are the proponents.The JMM, on the other hand, has the full strength to win one Rajya Sabha seat. Shibu Soren's victory is confirmed. JMM has 29 seats and only 27 seats are needed to win. The UPA has 23 MLAs for the second seat. Now it will be seen who wins the trust of the MLA's the most.
