Defense Minister Rajnath Singh is leaving on a Three-day visit to Paris today. He will accept the first Rafale fighter aircraft on Dussehra and Indian Air Force Foundation Day. Officials said that Singh would perform the Shastra Puja on Tuesday after receiving the first Rafale fighter aircraft on the Bordeaux Marignais suburb. After performing the puja he will fly in the plane.

Rajnath Singh has been worshiping arms for years. While home minister, he used to worship arms. Arms-weapons are worshiped in Shastra Puja. It is part of the Dussehra festival in various parts of the country. Singh will meet French President Emmanuel Macron in Paris before leaving for Bordeaux on Tuesday morning. Defense and security issues are likely to be discussed between the two. The program for handing Rafael to Singh is at the Aircraft manufacturer Dassault Aviation, about 590 km from Paris.

Although the first of the 36 aircraft will be delivered to the Defense Minister on Tuesday itself, the first consignment of the four aircraft will reach India in May next year. Defense Ministry spokesman Bharat Bhushan Babu said that the Defense Minister would accompany French Defense Minister Florence Parle in Marignac. Rafael will participate in the handover program. He will also perform Shastra Puja on the auspicious occasion of Vijayadashami and will also fly in a plane.

Bharat Bhushan said that Singh will hold a meeting with the CEOs of the top French companies of France on October 9. During this time they will be asked to participate in Make in India. Probably Singh will invite those people to come to the Defense Expo held in Lucknow from 5 to 8 February.
