The Rajasthan government will allot land to the dependents of the soldiers of Rajasthan who were martyred in the Pulwama terror attack. Five men of the state were martyred in the Pulwama attack. In the meeting of the state cabinet on Wednesday, about four months after the interaction of the Congress, it was decided that now the dependents of the martyrs will be able to decide the Chief Minister on issues related to the land allotment.
So far, the allotment of land to the dependents of the martyrs was done after the Cabinet's approval. In the cabinet meeting, the Lokayukta Bill also reduced the term of the bill was approved. The previous Vasundhara Raje Government extended the tenure of Lokayukta and Deputy Lokayukta from five years to eight years.
Now the Gehlot government has once again decided to make Lokayukta and Deputy Lokayukta for five years. The legislation will be passed in this assembly session. Minister of State Sainik Welfare Minister Pratap Singh Khatriyawas said that now the matter of allotting land to the martyrs will not come in the Cabinet meeting. The Chief Minister has been authorized only for land allocation.
Khachariyawas said that there was a focus on good governance in the Cabinet meeting and the Chief Minister instructed all the District In-charge Ministers to visit their respective districts. During the assembly session on Saturday and Sunday and after the sessions, the Ministers will visit the districts in their charge regularly and send the report to the Chief Minister's Secretariat. The Cabinet has approved the 9 decisions passed by circulation in the meeting. The cabinet has also approved the Lokayukta's tenure-bills.
