PM Modi to Hold Meeting of CSIR Society Today

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will chair key meeting of the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) society today amid the decreasing cases of coronavirus in the country. Meanwhile, in a statement issued by the Prime Minister's Office, PM Modi will attend this program through video conference at 11 am. Union Health Minister Dr. Harsh Vardhan will also attend this meeting. Eminent scientists, industrialists, and senior officials of scientific ministries form part of the Society, which meets annually."

CSIR Society is part of the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research working under the Ministry of Science and Technology. According to the reports, the activities of this society carried out through 37 laboratories and 39 outreach centers spread across India. According to the information shared by the Prime Minister's Office, the meeting of the society is held every year.

PM Modi held telephonic conversation with Kamala Harris:

On the other hand, PM Modi held telephonic conversation with President Kamala D Harris Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday.  Later in the evening on Thursday, PM Modi tweeted, deeply appreciating the US's assurance and thanking Vice President Harris for the support and solidarity from the US government, businesses, and Indians living in the US. She also called Mexico's President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador. Guatemala's President Alejandro Giammattei, and Prime Minister Keith Rowley, Chairman of the Caribbean Community.

Meanwhile, in a statement, Senior Advisor and Chief Spokesperson Symone Sanders said, "The Vice President reiterated that the Administration's efforts are focused on achieving broad global coverage, responding to surges and other urgent situations and public health needs, and helping as many countries as possible who requested vaccines."
