Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the people at Vigyan Bhawan in Delhi on the occasion of the birth anniversary of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee. During this time he started the Atal Ground Water Scheme. At the same time, he said, 'Now the Rohtang Tunnel connecting Manali to Leh will be known as Atal Tunnel.' He said that this is an important project, dedicated to Atal ji. During the program in the building, PM Modi paid tribute to former PM Atal Bihari Vajpayee and great educationist Mahaman Madan Mohan Malviya. He said, 'Today is also the birthday of two jewels of India, Atal ji and Mahamana Madan Mohan Malaviya ji. I pay my respects to both these great men, paying tribute on behalf of the country.

During this, he said, 'The topic of water was very important for Atal ji, it was very close to him. Whether it is the Atal Jal Yojana or the guidelines related to the Jal Jeevan Mission, these will prove the resolve to deliver water to every household in the country by 2024. Is a big step in Talking about water, he said that having water crisis, as a family or as a citizen is worrying, but it is also a big obstacle in the development of a country. New India has to prepare us to deal with every situation of water crisis. For this, we are working together on five levels.

He said water crisis is a big problem, but work is being done for it. The Ministry of Water Power is doing quite well. In this monsoon, we have seen how extensive efforts have been made for water conservation from the society, from the Ministry of Water Power. He further added, 'On the one hand there is the Water Life Mission, which will work to deliver water from pipes to every house and on the other side there is the Atal Jal Yojana, which will pay special attention to those areas where ground water is very low.'
