Most Cyber Attacks on Indian Companies: Cases Increased by 29% in Six Months

The last 6 months have been bad for Indian companies due to cyber attacks. During this period, a company faced an average of 1,738 cyber attacks every week. Whereas, worldwide this figure of cyber attacks remained only 757.
In this sense, Indian companies were attacked the most in the world. According to the latest report by Check Point Research, the highest number of cyber attacks in India were seen in companies in the research education, military, insurance and health sectors.

Cyber attacks increased by 29% in India

There has been a 29% increase in cyber attacks in India in the last 6 months. These cyber attacks have taken place in the countries of Europe, Middle East and Africa. There have also been large scale cyber attacks in America and Asia Pacific. Ransomware attacks on companies have increased by 93%. India has been the biggest market for hackers compared to other countries.

Cyber attacks in the US increased by 17%

Cyber security firm Check Point has released a report titled 'Cyber Attack Trends: 2021 Mid Year' in which information has been given about cyber attacks on various types of companies like government, health and others. According to the report, there has been a 17% increase in cyber attacks in the US alone. There were an average of 443 cyber attacks every week.

Cases in Europe grew by 27%

Whereas in Europe it has increased by 27%. An average of 777 cyberattacks have occurred on an organization every week in Europe, compared to a 19% increase in Latin America. In the US and Asia Pacific countries, an average of 1,338 cyberattacks have occurred on an organization every week, which is a 13% increase from the first months of this year.

Hackers charge money in exchange for data

The Check Point report states that ransomware attacks have also increased. It has also been said in the report that it has become common for hackers to steal data by hacking a company's system and charge money in exchange for the data. The report also states that hackers are now using new types of malware such as -Trickbot, Dridex, Qbot and IcedID.
