A Hindu temple was attacked by a mob in the Bhong area of Rahim Yar Khan district of Pakistan on Wednesday. Pakistani MP and Hindu community leader Ramesh Kumar Vankwani shared videos of the incident. In one of the videos, the mob vandalizes temple's premises. The mob vandalized the idols and the structure of the temple.

In another video, a frenzied mob seen running with sticks on the road adjacent to the temple. According to reports, the mob after attacking the temple blocked a nearby main road. Ramesh Kumar later posted a video on Twitter saying that the situation is now under control. He said that the initial slow response of the police has deteriorated the situation. In recent years, there has been an increase in attacks on places of worship of religious minorities in Pakistan. The country repeatedly reprimanded by the international community for not protecting the interests of its minorities.

Pakistan reported several cases of attacks on minorities' religious places:

In December last year, a mob of over a hundred people led by local Muslim clerics destroyed. And set ablaze the temple in Karak district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province. A video clip that has gone viral on social media shows a violent mob breaking the walls and ceiling of the temple. Meanwhile, the Evacuee Trust Property Board (ETPB), a statutory board of the Government of Pakistan, has failed to maintain the ancient and sacred sites of the minority community, the report said. Dawn, citing the statutory board ETPB, said that out of 365 temples, they are managing only 13. Out of which 65 were with the Hindu community and the rest were being abandoned.

Meanwhile, Pakistan has been discriminating against its religious minorities, cases like violence, mass murders, extrajudicial killings, kidnappings, rapes, forced conversions to Islam, etc. come to the fore. At the same time, the 2020 report on International Religious Freedom, released by the United States earlier this year, raised voices over religious expression in Pakistan.
