Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh expressed happiness on Monday and said that the state has become free from the grip of the novel coronavirus.  He announced this through a Twitter handle.  On Sunday, Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant also claimed that there is not a single corona patient in the state.  At the same time, he appealed to the people of the state that the way you all supported the administration till May 3, the same should be done by May 3.

The corona virus test positive of a 23-year-old woman who returned to Manipur from Britain at the end of March.  The woman was treated at the Jawaharlal Nehru Institute of Medical Sciences (JNIMS) in Imphal and returned home to be healthy  from Thangmeiband in Imphal West.  Earlier, the northeast part of the country was saved from this epidemic.  The lockdown continues in Manipur.  However, only the most essential services are exempted from lock-down.

The government set up isolation wards in two hospitals, the Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) and JNIMS.  Apart from this, the State Government had also urged the people to follow the Home Quarantine Order and not hide any symptoms of it and the people of the state fully supported it.  Let us know that the state of the north-eastern region has not yet reached Sikkim.  According to the Ministry of Health, as of 10.45 am on Monday, the total number of infected cases increased to 14175 where 2546 people have become healthy but 543 people have died.
