Maharashtra: Uddhav Thackeray says, Two-Year of Tenure was Spent in Managing the Covid-19

Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray said on Sunday that most of his government's two-year tenure was spent in managing the Covid-19 and the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) managed to convert the disaster into an opportunity. In a statement on the occasion of completing two years as chief minister, Thackeray. 61 thanked the people for supporting his government in all its endeavors and said it was a "people's government". Thackeray has been admitted to a private hospital after undergoing spinal surgery.

Two years have gone into covid-19 management

The Chief Minister said, "During man-made and natural calamities, we did not panic and our focus was on the welfare of the common man. Most of the last two years have gone into covid-19 management. We were successful in converting crisis into opportunity." He claimed that there is a huge difference between health, medical facilities, and infrastructure from two years ago and now.

After the 2019 Maharashtra Assembly elections. The Thackeray-led Shiv Sena broke an alliance with its long-time ally Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) over sharing of the chief minister's post. After this, So it formed an alliance with the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) and the Congress to form the MVA government. Thackeray said that there was no negativity in his government and administration while dealing with the global pandemic.

Government will ensure the welfare of the common man

He said, "We have worked hard to improve industrial investment, agricultural infrastructure, housing, employment. Water supply, solar energy, environment, forest, and tourism sectors. And also how the efforts of the government will ensure the welfare of the common man. So attention has been given."

People were given free treatment

The Chief Minister said that under the Mahatma Jyotirao Phule Agriculture Loan Waiver Scheme, and also loans worth Rs 20,000 crore of farmers have been waived. Thackeray said the state government provided Rs 2,600 crore to hospitals and also 14.4 lakh people were given free treatment. They are given under the Mahatma Jyotirao Phule Jan Arogya Yojana.
