Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla reached Jaipur Palace on Saturday to attend a private event. Here he expressed his opinion on the anti-defection law in the country. He said that accountability should increase in India's democratic system. The representative should be in any house of the country. But the government should answer their questions, it will increase accountability. Birla said that there is a need to amend the anti-defection law in the country as well. At present, the Lok Sabha has prepared for it, but the consensus could not be reached at the state level. In such a situation, work is being done on it again.

Governments should answer them

Lok Sabha Speaker Birla, who reached Jaipur, said that the matters which arise in the Legislature, Lok Sabha, and Rajya Sabha. Governments should answer them. This will increase accountability and will also put pressure on the executive to do better. Birla said that there is a need to make the anti-defection law more effective. Recently, a committee was formed regarding the anti-defection law. However, in which it was proposed to reduce the powers of the presiding officers. But a consensus has not been reached in all the assemblies. So this is being discussed again.

Smooth running of the House and to make public representatives

Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla said that Parliament being the supreme body of the country will make a model manual. After this, all the legislatures of the country will also implement this rule. So that the legislature can also run smoothly. Birla said that the formulation of rules would go a long way in creating a uniform rule-making process for smooth running of the House and to make public representatives accountable. Birla said that with this democratic institutions will be strengthened more.

Members who got elected for the first time would be educated and trained

Om Birla also appeared serious about taking part in the proceedings of the members in Parliament and Legislative Assemblies. He said that all the members who got elected for the first time would be educated and trained. He said that the smooth running of the House and maintaining the standard of discipline should be the priority of all the members. For this, also discussions will be held with the Speakers of the Houses continuously.

Legislatures have given their consent

Om Birla said that efforts are being made to bring the broadcast of the proceedings of the House on a single platform. On which the Speakers of all the Legislatures have given their consent. So Om Birla said that on the basis of the One Nation One Platform, we will be able to strengthen it.
