Kulgam: LeT Terrorist Shot Dead, Two Security Personnel Injured in Encounter

An encounter between security forces and terrorists has ended in Malpora Mir Bazar of Kulgam district of South Kashmir. One terrorist was killed by the security forces while the other terrorist has managed to escape from the site. However, security personnel are searching for him in the surrounding areas. The security forces have resumed traffic on the Jammu-Srinagar highway.

Giving information in this regard, IGP Kashmir Vijay Kumar said that the security personnel have averted a major tragedy before Independence Day. The security forces once again gave the terrorists a chance to surrender in the morning. The killed terrorist is a foreigner and has been identified as Usman, associated with Lashkar-e-Taiba. They planned a major attack on the security forces before the Independence Day. An AK-47 rifle, four magazines, some grenades and an RPG launcher cell recovered from the terrorist, the IGP said. The second terrorist managed to escape from the encounter site. Search for him is going on.

Two security personnel injured during operation:

Four people, including two security personnel and two civilians, injured in the encounter that continued since last Thursday evening. Late at night, the terrorists entered a big building to save their lives. IGP Kashmir Vijay Kumar and Army's Victor Force GOC Major General Rashim Bali are themselves constantly monitoring this operation.
