Fabindia tweeted promoting its fashion brand on the occasion of Diwali. In this tweet, they have uploaded a picture of all his models in red outfits. In a tweet, Fabindia wrote, 'As we welcome the festival of love and light, Jashn-e-Riwaaz by Fabindia is a collection that beautifully salutes Indian culture. (fabindia jashn-e-riwaaz). Replying to Fabindia's tweet, Tejasvi Surya, MP from Bengaluru, got very angry. He said that 'Deepavali is not Jash-e-Riwaaz. This deliberate attempt of abrahamisation of Hindu festivals, depicting models without traditional Hindu attires, must be called out. And brands like FabIndia News must face economic costs for such deliberate misadventures'.
Padmashree and Manipal Global Education Chairman Mohandas Pai also objected to the 'Jashn-e-Riwaaz' campaign of Fabindia.
