The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has found a window of 3 weeks for the remaining 31 matches of the IPL. These matches can start from 18 or 19 September. At the same time, the final of the tournament can be played on 10 October. There can be 10 doubleheader matches during this time. A senior BCCI official informed the news agency. The previous season of the IPL also began on 19 September in the UAE.

Earlier, the board was considering 2 options for these matches. These included England and the UAE. However, the first choice of BCCI CEO Hemang Amin was UAE. He believes that IPL has been done there before and UAE is cheaper than England. The IPL 2021 season was postponed due to Corona only after 29 matches out of 60 matches.

Board may announce dates and place on 29 May

However, its official announcement can be made after the BCCI's Special General Meeting on 29 May. After this meeting, which matches will be played where and on which dates, it can be announced. According to sources, a 5-Test series will begin between England and India in the UK from 4 August.

There is a 9-day gap between the second and third test. If this gap is reduced to 4 days, then the board will get more days to get the IPL matches. The BCCI is still under discussion with the England Cricket Board.

However, in the event of not adjusting, the dates of the tournament will not be affected. This is because England is not on the UAE Red List. Players must follow strict quarantine rules for a maximum of 3 days. Players from countries like Australia and New Zealand can also easily come to UAE.
