The history of Indian Railways is quite old. There are many interesting things about the railways which few people know. Actually, Nawapur railway station is on the Surat-Bhusaval line of Western Railway, which is divided into two states. Half of the Nawapur railway station falls in Maharashtra and half in Gujarat.
Railway Minister Piyush Goyal himself has also given information by tweeting about this railway station. The Railway Minister said, do you know that there is a railway station in the country which is located in two states? Nawapur is one such station on the Surat-Bhusaval line, where the boundaries of the two states lie between the stations. So half of this station is in Gujarat, and the remaining half is in Maharashtra.
Let us tell you that when the Nawapur station was built, there was no partition of Maharashtra and Gujarat. At that time Nawapur station was under the United Mumbai province. When Mumbai province was partitioned, the Nawapur station was divided into two states Maharashtra and Gujarat. Since then this station has its own distinct identity.
Railway passengers are given any information in four different languages at the Nawapur railway station divided into two states. The announcement takes place in Hindi, English, Gujarati and Marathi, so that travelers coming from both the states of Maharashtra and Gujarat can easily understand the information.
