If the British Have Not Divided India, It Would Have Been the World’s Greatest Power: PDP leader Muzaffar Hussain Baig

PDP leader Muzaffar Hussain Baig said- If the British had not divided India, it would have been the greatest power in the world today. It would have an impact on Afghanistan, Iran and Russia. He also said that a part of Jammu and Kashmir has been occupied by Pakistan at the will of Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru. A part of Jammu and Kashmir went there and one remained on this side. Talking to journalists, he said that as far as resolving the Kashmir issue is concerned, for this, Pakistan should first stop sending gunmen here and start the process of talking to India honestly.

Baig said that the exodus of Kashmiri Pandits is very sad. When they left here, the doors of the houses were open. Temples are still locked, their condition is not good. Kashmir's Islam is Sufist, Bahavi was not Islam, but in the 1990s everything changed. We want these people to come back. When I was a minister, I tried and I believe that the Kashmiri Pandits, the Government of India, the Dogras of Jammu and the Muslims of Kashmir and the administration here will have to make efforts together only then the Kashmiri Pandits will be able to return to the Valley.

In response to the question of foreign diplomats visiting Kashmir and resolving the Kashmir issue, Baig said that some time ago some foreign diplomats had talked to me on this issue. I told them that Pakistan had rescued its captive soldiers from India only after the signing of the Simla Agreement. The agreement excludes third parties on all contentious issues.
