PT Usha won five gold medals

PT Usha is the first and youngest female athlete from the country, who participated in the 1980 Moscow Olympic Games. She was 26 years old at that time. He won the gold medal in the 400 meters race at the 1981 Asian Track and Field Championships. In the 1982 Asian Games, he won silver medals in the 100 and 200 meters race. PT Usha is the first Indian woman to make it to the finals of the Olympic track event.

At the 1984 Los Angeles Olympic Games, PT Usha had finished fourth in the 400m race and lost the bronze medal by a margin of just moments. The same thing happened with Milkha Singh too. In the 1985 Asian Championships, PT Usha won five gold medals in different competitions. These were the most medals in an event for a woman. PT Usha has been awarded the Arjuna Award and Padma Shri Award.
