Senior Congress leader and former minister of Himachal Pradesh GS Bali passed away late on Friday night. He breathed his last in Delhi AIIMS. GS Bali was 67 years old. He had been keeping unwell for some time and was under treatment at AIIMS. His body will be brought to his ancestral home Nagrota via air ambulance, where he will be cremated. His son Raghuveer Singh Bali was informed about his demise through internet media.

Bali was also the Transport Minister in the year 2003

Born on 27 July 1954, GS Bali was a four-time MLA and two-time minister from Nagrota Bagwan. GS Bali contested the elections for the first time in 1998 on a Congress ticket and reached the Vidhan Sabha. After that in 2003, 2007, and 2012 also got a chance to become MLA. He was also a minister in the Virbhadra government. However, in the 2017 elections, he was defeated by BJP's candidate Arun Mehra Kuka. Bali was also the Transport Minister in the year 2003. He was considered the second number minister in the Congress government after the Chief Minister and he always had the ambition to become the Chief Minister of the state.

GS Bali's son Raghubir Singh Bali informed about his father's death. With a very sad heart, I have to inform you that my respected father and dear to all of you GS Bali Ji is no more with us. Last night he breathed his last at AIIMS in Delhi. My father always used to say, "Whether GS Bali lives in the world or not, he will always be in the hearts of his people". Dad may be no more in the world, but his ideals and guidance will live on in our hearts and in our hearts forever.

Another big blow to Congress

After the death of former Congress Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh, the death of another strong leader has dealt a big blow to the party. He was a senior leader from Kangra, the largest district of the state. He was in charge in the Mandi by-election, but since then he was keeping unwell. It is being told that he underwent a kidney transplant in AIIMS. His health suddenly deteriorated on Friday night, after which he breathed his last.

There is a wave of mourning in the entire Himachal Pradesh including Nagrota Bagwan, Kangra on the death of GS Bali. Former minister Bali's loved ones left for Delhi as soon as he got the information about the deteriorating health. All the fans of GS Bali are in shock. He was also the founder head of the Himachal Citizen Reform Sabha.

President of the Himachal Social Body Federation

He was also the first Vice President, then President of the Himachal Social Body Federation. Bali also played the role of convener of the All India Congress Vichar Manch from 1990 to 1997. Apart from this, he was the President of Congress Seva Dal from 1995 to 1998, and co-secretary of Himachal Pradesh Congress Committee from 1993 to 1998.
