Final Arguments on Sunni Waqf Board’s Appeal in Ayodhya Case Today

The Ayodhya land dispute case will enter the final stage of hearing in the Supreme Court today. In the previous hearing, arguments were made on the appeal of the Sunni Waqf Board. Earlier, the Hindu side quoted Skanda Purana as saying that the philosophy of Rama's birthplace gives salvation. Ramlala's lawyer PS Narasimha had said that the Skanda Purana was long before Babur came to India and built a mosque there, which proves the importance of that place.

On the last hearing, the lawyer for the Muslim side, Rajiv Dhawan had said in the Supreme Court that he would complete his arguments on October 14. At present, the Supreme Court has decided that on 15 and 16 October, Hindu parties will be given a chance to retaliate after the arguments of the Muslim side ends today. In the case, the Supreme Court while deciding the new deadline, said that by October 17, the three parties will have to complete their arguments. Earlier, the deadline of October 18 was fixed by the Supreme Court.

Meanwhile, section 144 has been imposed in Ayodhya. Ayodhya District Collector Anuj Kumar Jha said that Section-144 will remain in force in the district till December 10, given the possibility of verdict in the Ayodhya land dispute case and the upcoming festivals. A decision in this case is expected by November 17. On this day, Chief Justice of the Supreme Court Ranjan Gogoi is also retiring. The members of the constitutional bench hearing the case include Justice SA Bobde, Justice DY Chandrachud, Justice Ashok Bhushan and Justice SA Nazir along with the Chief Justice
