The violent protests in South Delhi in protest against the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) calmed down on Sunday night, but tension continued in some areas on Monday. At the same time, a large number of people have gathered outside Jamia again on Monday morning and are continuously protesting against the police. The students have demanded a CBI inquiry into the entire case, as well as requested the Supreme Court to take cognizance of the case.

Senior advocate Colin Gonzalvis has sought a Supreme Court retiring judge investigating the violence in Jamia. At the same time, Chief Justice of India SA Bobde said that we do not want to watch the video. If violence and destruction of public property continues, we will not hear it.

While the Delhi High Court has denied immediate hearing on the petition against the police for the violent protests in Jamia, the Delhi Police has registered two FIRs.

The traffic going to Delhi via Kalindi Kunj is diverted towards DND, Akshardham, and DND. This has been done by the Delhi Police in view of any possible uproar. 8 Metro stations of the Magenta Line which were closed on Sunday, all the stations have been opened normally on Monday. Despite this its roads are closed, so this line of metro is very crowded.

On Monday morning, a student is performing a shirt off at the gate of Jamia Millia Islamia University. It has demanded that action should be taken against the Delhi Police personnel who have beaten the students.
