Decision on Muzaffarpur Shelter Home Case Will Come on December 12

The verdict by the Saket court in the famous Muzaffarpur Girls' Sexual Harassment case of Bihar has been postponed till 12 December. The strike of the lawyers is believed to be the reason for postponing the decision. In fact, due to the ongoing tension in the lawyers and policemen, there could be a problem in bringing the accused from the jail to the court premises. Therefore, the court has given the date of 12 December.

Lawyers are still not allowing the police to enter the Saket court. While a large number of policemen would have been required to bring 20 accused to court. At the same time, advocate Dhiraj Kumar Singh of some of the accused told that due to the strike, the lawyers had decided that they would not appear in the court.

A total of 20 people, including the main Accused Brajesh Thakur, are being tried under various sections including Poxo. Additional Sessions Judge Saurabh Kulshrestha is hearing the case. The accused also include girls' employees and officials of the Social Welfare Department, Bihar.

On the order of the Supreme Court, regular hearing is going on in the Saket court from February 23. Brajesh Thakur, the main accused, is being tried in various sections including poxo and rape. The Supreme Court had directed to complete the trial in six months. In July last year, several girls were raped and sexually assaulted in a government-aided girls' home in Muzaffarpur district of Bihar. All 20 worshipers were brought to Delhi on 23 February under tight security.
