Two sadhus were strangled to death late last night at a Shiva temple in village Pagona of Anupshahr police station area of Bulandshahr. The youth who is accused of murder was also caught by the villagers and handed over to the police after beating him.
In the Shiva temple of village Pagona, for the past ten years, Garibdas alias Jagan Das resident Bhadesi Ashram Aligarh and his disciple Sher Singh alias Sewadas resident of village Kanaura police station used to take care of Chhatari. SSP Santosh Kumar Singh said that the two sadhus had left their family about 12 years ago and came to live in an ashram in Aligarh. 10 years ago, he came to the temple located in Pagona village and started worshiping. Their family members are being traced.
On Monday, the village Pagona resident Murari alias Raju son Devi Sahai took away the extract of a saint. The sadhus went to her house and expressed their displeasure. Murari killed both the sadhus by strangling them with sharp weapons in the night. Today, people got information about the incident when the devotees visited the temple. Meanwhile, the villagers caught the accused Murari running from the forest. He was handed over to the police after beating him. The police have taken him into custody. He came out on bail shortly after being jailed for robbery and murder.
