CBI is Conducting Raids in Manipur, CM’s Position in Danger

The CBI is conducting raids at 9 places in 3 states in connection with the so-called Rs 332 crore irregularity in development works in Manipur. Officials said that these raids are being carried out in Aizawl, Imphal and Gurgaon. In this case, the CBI has registered a case against former Manipur Chief Minister Okram Ibobi Singh and 5 others.

Officials said that it is alleged that the then president of Manipur Development Society (MDS) and former CM of Manipur O.M. Ibobi Singh, along with some others during his tenure from June 2009 to July 2017, carried out the conspiracy. According to the allegation, out of the total government fund of Rs 518 crore, about Rs 332 crore was embezzled. The CBI has registered the case at the request of the Manipur government.
