Allegation made without strong evidence; says Wankhede’s lawyer

The hearing was held today in a defamation case of 1.2 crores filed by NCB zonal director Sameer Wankhede's father Gyandev Wankhede against Maharashtra Minorities Welfare Minister Nawab Malik. During this hearing held in the chamber of Justice Madhav Jamdar of Bombay High Court, the debate on the new document submitted by Malik took place. Malik has presented the leaving certificate of Sameer Wankhede's school before the court. In which his father's name is Gyandev Dawood Wankhede. Seeking interim relief in the defamation case, Wankhede's father has demanded a stay on the allegations leveled by Nawab Malik and a ban on defamatory tweets by him.

Tweeted without concrete information

During the hearing of the same case, Gyandev Wankhede's lawyer said that after November 13, Malik sought information from BMC about Sameer Wankhede's birth certificate from RTI. Meaning he asked for information several days after tweeting. Tweeted without getting any concrete information. In this RTI also it has been said that in 1993 Sameer's father's name has been corrected as Gyandev and also written about the officer who corrected him.

Wankhede's lawyer further said that the school gave the 'Leaving Certificate' only to Sameer Wankhede and the police. Because Sameer Wankhede had complained in the Scheduled Castes Commission. Where did Nawab Malik get this school leaving certificate from? How did Nawab Malik get the document that reached the police?

Lawyer's reasoning behind different certificates

Wankhede's counsel further submitted that in the primary school leaving certificate, Dawood is Wankhede, father's name and religion is Muslim, but after correction in the secondary school leaving certificate, father's name is Gyandev Wankhede and religion is Hindu and caste is Mahar.

The court will give its verdict on November 22

Wankhede's lawyer further said that as claimed by Nawab Malik, Sameer had come to know in class 5 that he would clear UPSC and he would have to take advantage of Mahar caste. As soon as Wankhede's counsel was completed, the court adjourned the hearing of the matter till 5.30 pm on November 22. On this day the court will give its verdict on the grant of interim relief to Gyandev Wankhede.

However, on Wednesday, Sameer Wankhede's wife Kranti Redkar came forward in her husband's defense and presented him the birth certificate issued by the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation. This Hindu is written in front of Sameer Wankhede's name. In this, the name of Sameer's father is Gyandev Kachruji Wankhede.

We have the answer to every allegation of Malik

The certificate issued by Kranti Redkar on Wednesday has been issued by BMC. It has a BMC stamp on it. Kranti says that the allegations made by Nawab Malik are baseless. Kranti said, "Maharashtra's Minorities Minister Nawab Malik is not telling the truth. He is repeatedly adopting some gimmicks. But we have genuine documents to refute all his allegations."
