All commercial flights have been suspended from Hamid Karzai International Airport in Kabul as the Taliban have closed airspace in Afghanistan. However, Kabul-bound flight from Delhi will fly at 12:30 pm, instead of 8:30 pm. All major airlines have rerouted flights to avoid Afghanistan airspace amid unconfirmed reports of NOTAM (Notice to Airmen) being issued for closure of airspace. Now, the India-US direct flights will take a longer route and might have a stoppage at the UAE or Qatar.

On the other hand, Saudi Arabia on Sunday announced that it has evacuated all the staff from the embassy in Kabul due to the security crises, joining other countries that have also shuttered their embassies as the Taliban entered the Afghan capital.

However, Ghani has not disclosed his current location information. According to the sources, Ghani, his wife, his chief of staff and national security adviser are in Tashkent, neighboring Uzbekistan.

At the same time, the spokesman for the Taliban's political office Mohammad Naeem said, "Today is a great day for the Afghan people and the mujahideen. They have witnessed the fruits of their efforts and their sacrifices for 20 years. Thanks to God, the war is over in the country. We have reached what we were seeking, which is the freedom of our country and the independence of our people. We will not allow anyone to use our lands to target anyone, and we do not want to harm others."
