9 Judges took Oath together for the First Time in the SC including 3 Women

9 judges took the oath together in the Supreme Court today. This is the first time in the history of SC when 9 judges have taken oath together.

9 judges took the oath together in the Supreme Court today. This is the first time in the history of SC when 9 judges have taken oath together. There are also 3 women judges among them. Justice Nagarathna is also one of the women judges, who can become the first woman Chief Justice of the country in 2027. Apart from this, there is also Justice PS Narasimha, who is being appointed directly from the bar to the Supreme Court. He too can become the Chief Justice in 2028.

Justice BV Nagarathna

Justice Nagarathna was appointed additional judge in the Karnataka High Court in 2008, in 2010 he was appointed as a permanent judge. In 2012, in view of the increasing cases of fake news, Justice Nagarathna and other judges had directed the central government to examine the possibility of regulating media broadcasting. However, he also warned of the dangers of government control over the media.

Justice Hima Kohli

Hima Kohli was a judge of the Telangana High Court. She was also the first woman judge to become the Chief Justice of this High Court. She has been a judge in the Delhi High Court. Justice Kohli is known for his decisions related to legal education and legal aid in India. During her tenure at the Delhi High Court, she had given the decision to provide facilities to visually impaired people in government educational institutions. Apart from this, a decision was also given regarding the protection of the identity of the minor accused.

 Justice Bela Trivedi

She was a judge in the Gujarat High Court since February 9, 2016. In 2011, she was an additional judge in the same High Court and before that she has also been an additional judge in the Rajasthan High Court. Her full name is Bela Mandhuria Trivedi.

Justice Abhay Shreeniwas Oka

Shreeniwas has been an additional and permanent judge in the Bombay High Court. In 2019, Chief Justice of Karnataka High Court was appointed. Justice Oka is considered a specialist in Civil, Constitutional and Service Matter. As the Chief Justice of the Karnataka High Court, he has given decisions regarding the protection of fundamental rights of the people and excesses of the states and has also questioned the functioning of the states.

Justice Vikram Nath

Vikram Nath has been the Chief Justice of Gujarat High Court. Earlier, he was a judge of Allahabad High Court. Earlier, his name was recommended as the Chief Justice of Andhra Pradesh High Court, but then the Center rejected this recommendation. During the Corona epidemic in 2020, he was the first Chief Justice of the country, who started virtual proceedings in the High Court.

 Justice Jitendra Kumar Maheshwari

Justice Jitendra Kumar has been the Chief Justice of Sikkim High Court. Earlier, he was also the Chief Justice of Andhra Pradesh High Court. He has also been a judge in the Madhya Pradesh High Court. He was also born in Jaura, Madhya Pradesh. He was a lawyer in Gwalior before being promoted to the High Court bench. He has also done PhD on the shortcomings in the medical facilities of Madhya Pradesh.

Justice CT Ravi

Ravi has been a judge in the Kerala High Court. His father was a bench clerk in the magisterial court. He made a big comment about the speed trial of the cases. He said that the life of law is long, but life is short. He gave this comment in 2013 in a case of corruption and separated the two cases so that his trial could be faster.

Justice PS Narasimha

The first judge to be appointed to the Supreme Court from the bar. He is the ninth judge in the country to be appointed directly from the bar and may also become the Chief Justice in 2028. If this happens, he will be the third judge after being appointed from the bar to become the Chief Justice. He also served as Additional Solicitor General from 2014 to 2018. He was also associated with the Italian Navy case, the NJAC case involving judges. He was also appointed as an arbitrator to resolve disputes related to the administrative work of BCCI.

Justice MM Sundaresh

Judge of Kerala High Court started advocacy in 1985. He did BA from Chennai and got a law degree from Madras Law College.
