Uttarakhand Police has joined the popular Chinese short-form video platform TikTok. The purpose of the police under this is to connect directly with the people. Let us tell you that earlier Kerala Police took their entry in TikTok last month and now they have more than 2.25 lakh followers.

Senior Police Officer Ashok Kumar said in a statement that we believe that by being on TikTok we will get easy acceptance among the people and we will be able to connect with the general public on a personal level. He further said that Uttarakhand Police wants to share awareness videos about road safety, cyber security, women safety and other social issues through this platform.

It was further told in the statement that Uttarakhand Police will create and post videos about different social issues for the youth through this TikTok account. Along with this, it will also make contact with popular creators on TikTok so that the message of the police can be communicated to the people in a very effective manner. The officer said that we are ready to create a positive atmosphere in the state of Uttarakhand with our videos on the app.

Talking about TikTok, it is a short video making platform. Here users can create short videos and share them. Along with this, users also get the option of editing. Currently, it has more than 200 million users in India.

Last month, the government issued a notice to Tiktok and Helo with a set of 24 questions. This notice was allegedly issued in connection with using the platform for anti-national activities. The company responded to this notice.

Apart from this, in the month of April, the Madras High Court had directed the Center to ban the TikTok app. The court said that this app is promoting pornography and vulgar content. Later this order has been lifted and the app returned to the App Store.
